HR - Health Region

Content	Towards a healthy and prosperous Baltic Sea Region
	The EUSBSR strategy's flagship "ScanBalt Health Region" is being discussed at a number of sessions at ScanBalt Forum 2011. Tackling the dramatic increase in world's diabetes population by a Global Diabetes Health Initiative will be highlighted in the plenary session as well as the perspectives of individualised medicine. The continuing sessions will discuss how to raise the profile for health and public well-being and how health is organised in different levels. Health-related flagship projects from EUSBSR will discuss interaction and further joint activities. Topics include furthermore how regional innovative product can improve patients outcome, what strategies are developed to foster Healthy Ageing and tackle the challenges of the demographic challenges. Finally the idea of setting up a Baltic Sea Region wide prevalence study of multiresistant bacteria will be presented and discussed. The speakers include a long list of experts in health science, care and economy as well as generally decision and opinion makers.

GV - Green Valley

Content	The Baltic Sea Region - The Green Valley
	The future development of the Baltic Sea Region into a Green Valley will be discussed at ScanBalt Forum 2011. Germany's viewpoint to tackle environmental issues in the BSR including its move to a post-nuclear period will be highlighted in a plenary presentation. Further topics include presentations of green clusters and networks in the BSR- Eco4Life project will be discussed as a pilot project intending to bundle resources in the South Baltic Region. Further sessions will discuss ecological and biological challenges in the High North, the potentials of knowledge based bio economy ("white biotech") and the conservation of marine areas and sustainable use of marine resources.

CB - Cross-border

Content	Cross-border collaboration in the Baltic Sea Region
	Added value of cross-border collaboration is the foundation for a succesful Baltic Sea Region. The forum mission "Towards a balanced regional development and smart specialization in the BSR" is dealt with in depth at a number of sessions at ScanBalt Forum 2011. It will be discussed whether there is a need for a new international student's and postgraduate's initiative in order to boost academic exchange in the Baltic Sea Region, an issue of profound interest for universities and companies alike. Specific topics like cancer prevention, ehealth and telemedicine will discuss how to strenghten coordination and collaboration. Finally technology transfer as a development strategy for the Baltic Sea Region will be discussed and is coupled with EEN match making event.
